Black Hawk Poker Rooms & Tournament Information. Carved into Gregory Gulch about 40 miles outside of downtown Denver, the historic former mining town of Black Hawk features 15 casinos and more than 1,000 hotel rooms. Black Hawk is home to some of the largest and most active poker rooms in Colorado. Golden Gates Casino & Poker Parlour Promotions. This poker room has carved out its niche as THE destination for tournament poker in Colorado. They’ve done this by hosting the Heartland Poker Tour, and by running by far the most tournaments in Black Hawk/Central City areas. Every day, seven days a week, the Golden Gates has at least 3 tournaments, running at 10 AM, Noon, and 7 PM.

MSPT Heads to Colorado
Season 11 will kick off January 15-19 with a $360 buy-in, $150K GTD Regional Event at Golden Gates Casino in Black Hawk, Colorado. Situated about an hour west of Denver in a scenic mountain gully, the stop will play host to two trophy events and five Nightly $135 Deep Stack tournaments.
Last April, Aaron Frei won his first MSPT trophy after topping a 778-entry field to win the first $360 MSPT Golden Gates Regional, and amazingly he returned in November to go back-to-back by defending his title in a 915-entry field to win the second $360 MSPT Golden Gates Regional Event of Season 10 after a four-way chop, earning $36,607.
The upcoming $360 Regional Event will feature four starting flights at Noon each day starting Wednesday, January 15 through Saturday, January 18. The surviving players from those flights will then return on Sunday, January 19 to play down to a winner.
The MSPT is slated to return to Golden Gates from April 13-19, during which time they’ll host a $1,100 buy-in Main Event. Visit msptpoker.com for more details.
MSPT Cleveland Poker Open January 16-19
The first Main Event of the MSPT Season 11 is the $1,110 buy-in, $300K GTD Cleveland Poker Open at JACK Cleveland Casino. PokerNews will be there to live report that tournament.
The 2020 MSPT Cleveland Poker Open – a 21 or older event – will take place January 16-19 and will be preceded by a series of $70, $145 and $265 satellites where every single satellite boasts a 10-seat guarantee. The stop will mark the MSPT’s 164th Main Event and the fourth ever at JACK Cleveland Casino.
In 2018, the inaugural MSPT Cleveland Poker Open attracted 581 entrants and saw Abdul “Dulie” Amer capture the title and $118,350 first-place prize.
The MSPT Season 10 Cleveland Poker Open last January drew 725 entries creating a $703,250 total prize pool, which made it by far the largest major poker tournament ($1K+ buy-in) in Cleveland’s history, breaking the MSPT's own record from the previous year. In the end, it was Sean Munjal who navigated the field to take down a $140,654 top prize.
